Ⅳ. The Assets and College Buildings

In 2009, the fixed assets with property rights held by the open universities in China are valued at 22.782 billion yuan, including 5.588 billion yuan of machines and equipment for teaching and research; there were 47,426,200 books, 329,600 computers (of these 329,600 computers, there were 251,400 computers for teaching), language laboratories providing 74,600 seats, and multimedia laboratories providing 510,500 seats.

The fixed assets without property rights are valued at 5.725 billion yuan, with 1.087 billion yuan of the assets being used independently, and 4.638 billion yuan of them being shared.

In 2009, the total construction area of college buildings with property rights was 19,757,700 square meters, including 9,712,300 square meters for teaching and support use, 2,098,700 square meters for administrative offices, and 6,324,700 square meters for living.

The total construction areas of the college buildings without property rights amounted to 5,194,500 square meters, of which 1,294,400 square meters were used exclusively by the open universities around the country and 3,900,100 square meters were shared.
