Statistical Bulletin on the Status of the CRTVUs in 2010

In 2010, the system of the China Radio and TV Universities (CRTVUs) consisted of the Open University of China (OUC, formerly CCRTVU); 44 provincial radio and TV universities (PRTVUs) (referring to the radio and TV universities established in provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government and cities with economic planning directly supervised by the State Council and other independently established RTVUs); 1103 branch schools of radio and TV universities at the prefecture and city level (referring to 926 branch schools and 177 working stations under the direct administration of the PRTVUs); and 1,853 working stations of county-level RTVUs (referring to the working stations under the direct administration of the branch schools).

Ⅰ. The Degree/Diploma Education

1. Open Education

In 2010, 649,800 students graduated from the OUC with either a bachelor's degree (after getting an associate degree or junior college diploma), an associate degree (junior college diploma) or a certificate from the One- College-Student-for-One-Village Programme. Among these, 199,400 were undergraduates. They included 6,914 who received a bachelor's degree, 412,400 with an associate degree, and the 38,000 with a certificate from the One-College-Student-for-One-Village Programme.

In 2010, enrollment in OUC open education programme totaled 919,300. This included 244,200 undergraduate students, 612,200 junior college students and 62,900 students involved in the One-College-Student-for-One-Village Programme.

In 2010, there were 2,796,100 active students registered in OUC Open Education Programme, including 802,600 undergraduate students, 1,823,600 junior college students and 169,900 students in the One-College-Student-for- One-Village Programme.
