The Department of Chinese Language and Literature provides programmes in Chinese Language and Literature (degree and diploma), Chinese Language and Literature (degree, Teacher Development ), Secretarial Studies (started to enroll students in fall 2009). The major compulsory courses include Modern Chinese, Ancient Chinese, Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, Ancient Chinese Literature, Foreign Literature, Introduction to Literature, Writing, Literary Theories, Speech Communication Arts, Secretarial Theories and Practice, Information Processing, Archive Management, and others. The Department of Public Management provides programmes in Administration Management (degree and diploma). The major compulsory courses include Political Theories, Public Administration, Public Policy Studies, Introduction to Leadership, Administrative Organization, Social Research Methodologies, and others. The Teaching and Research Division of Communication provides programmes in Advertisement (degree education), Marketing Communications (diploma education), Advertising Design and Production (diploma education). The major compulsory courses include Introduction to Advertising, Advertising Planning, History of Chinese and Foreign Advertising, Advertising Creativity and Performance, Online Advertising Practice, Brand Competition Strategies, Advertising Psychology, Three-Dimensional Computer Design, Advertising Profession, Media Planning, Drawings, Color, Composition, Visual Design Basics, Computer Graphic Design, Analysis of Outstanding Advertising Works, and others. The Teaching and Research Division of Marxism-Leninism is responsible for the provision of ideological and political theory courses, including Deng Xiaoping Theory and Introduction to the Important Thoughts of "Three Represents" (Shorthand for the call that the Communist Party of China (CPC) provides insight and leadership for economic and cultural progress, and commit itself to public good.), Ideological and Moral Cultivation, Marxist Philosophy, and others. |
