1. OUC (the Open University of China) is a member of AAOU and held the position of Presidency from 2004 to 2007.

2. OUC is an institutional member of ICDE and was a member of the executive board from 2002 to 2006.

3. OUC established the first online Confucius Institute with Michigan State University in USA in 2006.

4. OUC has been working with Thompson Rivers University in Canada on the Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) project since 2008.

5. OUC, together with OUUK, has developed three online courses.

6. OUC has cooperated with the BBC in maintaining the "in2English" website.

7. OUC has offered Sino-British Fellowship together with Sino-British Fellowship Trust (SBFT) and China Scholarship Council (CSC). Up till now, fifty visiting scholars have been sent to British institutions since 1999. This collaboration has obtained a great success.
